Presenting our first tea from Kotagiri region in the Nilgiris and the second tea which will go the "candy" collection! This is also from late February harvest which we tasted during our trip to the region in early March. The rocky terrain of Kotagiri crafts this tea into something very different from our existing collection from Nilgiri, which was limited to being from the Coonoor region till now!
The dry leaf smells sweet with a hint of caramel and malt. The tea comes to life once you put it on your heated ware, with notes of orange marmalade and fruit. Right on your first sip you know how well it has translated into the liquor, with notes of orange sugar candy, orange marmalade and orange fruit leather greeting you. There is a hint of mint when the liquor cool downs, but the base note remains similar to various things made out of oranges! This is an exceptionally enjoyable tea which tastes refreshing on every steep and sip!
