Introducing another tea from Arunachal Autumn 2021 harvest, the Arunachal Golden Bud Black Tea. We just cannot get over the simple and enjoyable blacks teas the region has to offer, consistent yet unique! This was manufactured in late November, we were not even aware they make tea over there so late in the season but were pleased to know that and ended up stocking all the teas we did!
This tea has a chocolaty aroma with a touch of malt. When placed on the heated ware, the chocolate and malt are the aromas which greet you first, followed by a nutty finish. The liquor is sweet in a very soothing way. You notice the floral attribute first, similar to honeysuckle but also like marigold. It has fruity notes of red apple adding to its sweetness. The touch of malt is present on the finish along with a sweet caramel like note, making the brew wholesome and familiar. The nutty note translates into the liquor as well, resembling almonds the most. Overall it makes for a really comforting drink and that can be called the main theme of this tea, like all the Arunachal Blacks!
