Presenting the latest addition to our white tea collection, the 2024 Arunachal Bai Mu Dan, harvested at the end of summer 2024, we're lucky this was saved for us, albeit in a small quantity. A handcrafted delight, this is our second summer bai mu dan from the north east part of India this year and makes for a good addition to our collection. We had it in our minds to increase our white tea offerings since we had just a few when the year started, we're happy to have fulfilled our goal.
The dry leaf smells grassy with a hint of fruit, hard to pinpoint which one but similar to green fruits like guavas. When placed on the heated ware, there's a hint of grass with a jujube like finish. The liquor is simple and thick, you get notes of vanilla wafers and raw jujube. There's a hint of pears as well, which adds to the sweetness. The sweetness also has a hint of sugar and caramel. The thick liquor coats your mouth and feels very soothing in the throat, devoid of any kind of astringency. We're sure you will love it if you like low oxidation white teas with a refreshing taste profile.
